Bento #050: Special Holiday Dinner: Homemade Mackerel & Pressed Sushi

 Today is a special holiday edition!

I made a nice dinner instead of my usual bento.

🍱 Today's  "not" JK Bento Menu

  • Main: Grilled Mackerel Sushi (Yaki Saba Zushi) & Pressed Sushi (Oshi Zushi)

  • Beautiful homemade sushi using a mold.

  • Side: Clear Soup (Sumashi Jiru)



👨‍🍳 Dad's Comment

I saw how to make mackerel sushi on TV

and really wanted to try it.

Using less vinegar and adding lime juice

was a great idea because it cuts

the rich fat of the mackerel perfectly.

It was actually quite easy to make,

so I want to make it a regular menu item!
