Bento #046: Grilled Salted Mackerel Bento

 Welcome back to my bento diary! Today I packed a very traditional Japanese style lunch.

🍱 Today's JK Bento Menu

  • Main: Rice

  • Main: Grilled salted mackerel

  • Side: Atsuage (Thick fried tofu)

  • Side: Cucumber wrapped in ham and cheese

  • Side: Rolled omelet with toasted seaweed

  • Side: Broccoli

  • Soup: Instant Miso soup

👨‍🍳 Dad's Comment

We had two half-fillets of frozen salted mackerel, so I grilled one for the bento. I'll use the other one to make Shimesaba (vinegared mackerel) for dinner. I only had one piece of toasted seaweed left, so I rolled it into the omelet. If I had three pieces, I could have made a full circle inside!
